I am exhausted!! I started my new job today. I got there at 9:30. The kids went right to their rooms - both of their teachers came out a few hours later to tell me what a good job they were both doing. Anna was being very well behaved and listening well. Brandon made a new friend right away, Hayden.
I worked in the big kid room until after lunch. I was with 30 kids from age 6-12. It was a big group, but pretty easy since they are all self sufficient. After lunch - which they provided for the teachers too, I went from working with the oldest kids in the center to the youngest kids. Talk about changing gears! I was with 5 babies aged 6 weeks to 6 months. They were great babies, but with 2 teachers, 5 babies can really keep you busy. Once you are done feeding, changing and putting to bed one baby, it is time to do it again with another one!
I left at 5:45 - it was the most I have worked in 6 years! Quite a shock to mine & the kids systems.
Anna was super excited to see me. She was very done with school - and I guess had just been crying for me. Brandon didn't seem to miss me very much. He has been talking non-stop about how much fun he had. It was hard when we got home, because usually by 6:15 we would have been done with dinner, but now we were just starting to cook dinner. After we ate, it was bath then bed. The kids are in bed about an hour late - but not too late for them.
I know we will all get used to the long hours, and after a few weeks it will be easy. Tonight - not so easy.... SO TIRED
